Some financial awards require that you submit an application for consideration, while other entrance awards are automatically assessed and awarded at the time of your admission.

Entrance scholarships, awards and bursaries available to Canadian high-school applicants are listed in the following table. For awards requiring an application, submit the application via MyFile as noted below. You do not need an offer of admission to apply for scholarships, awards and bursaries. Complete the application early so that you are considered for the most awards possible 鈥 some scholarships close to applications as early as February 15. The application closes April 1. If you qualify for one of these awards listed, you will receive an e-mail or letter letting you know the name of the scholarship or award you have received and the value. Many high school applicants are admitted and offered entrance scholarships based on mid-year or "in-progress" results when their admission average is at or above 80%. All Entrance Scholarship amounts and eligibility are confirmed/finalized based on final grades.

This scholarship is renewable at all tiers based on grade point average and course load requirements. To renew 草榴2024新地扯一二 Automatic Entrance Scholarships, recipients must maintain a minimum 8.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) over a minimum of 24 credits taken during the entire academic year (previous Summer and Fall/Winter sessions).

草榴2024新地扯一二 is proud to be one of only 20 Canadian universities to participate in the Schulich Leader Scholarship program. This prestigious scholarship allows promising entrepreneurial-minded students to pursue their dreams and become the next global pioneers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) areas of study. Recipients of these scholarships must demonstrate:

  • Academic excellence, AND
  • Entrepreneurial mindset (demonstrating leadership, charisma and creativity).
  • Strong consideration will be given to students with financial need
  • Intend to pursue a career in one or more of the following focus areas:
    1. Technology
    2. Engineering
    3. Entrepreneurship and business enterprise
    4. Applied scientific research

Scholarships are valued at $100,000 ($25,000 x 4 years) for student(s) admitted to Science, Technology or Mathematics programs of study and at $120,000 ($30,000 x 4 years of study) for student(s) admitted to an Engineering program in the Lassonde School of Engineering. In addition to this large financial award, they join an elite network and benefit from student enrichment opportunities throughout the year. International Scholarships and Awards Requiring an Application

草榴2024新地扯一二 is committed to giving a broad demographic of students access to a high quality, research-intensive learning environment committed to the public good. We champion diversity and inclusivity, embracing differing perspectives, peoples, and ways of knowing, and fostering global fluencies and cross-cultural knowledges. International students who attend 草榴2024新地扯一二 have access to a wide variety of supports, academic, financial, and otherwise to help them in meeting their academic goals.

To be considered for the scholarships and awards below, you must submit the International Student Scholarship & Award Application. These scholarships and awards are for applicants with an exceptional academic profile, and who demonstrate leadership through community service or excellence in the arts or sport. Students do not need an offer of admission to apply for York entrance awards and scholarships.

The Fall/Winter 2025-2026 application will open in December 1,  2024.
The application deadline is February 15, 2025.

Note: A 9-digit York reference number is required, which you will receive within 5 business days of applying to York. Ensure that you submit your application for admission well in advance of the scholarship application deadline February 15, 2025.

Requirements:

  • Must be an international student who is required to have a Study Permit to study in Canada
  • Must have applied to an undergraduate degree program at York that begins in Fall 2025
  • Must have applied to York directly from high school no more than two years after graduation, and have no previous university or college studies (not applicable to Tentanda Via Award) 
  • Must have an excellent academic record with a minimum 鈥淎鈥 average or equivalent (where applicable)
  • Must have demonstrated leadership through community service or excellence in the arts, sports, or other areas of individual achievement (where applicable)
  • Must upload one letter of recommendation or other supporting documents as applicable
  • Must ensure all required documents are shown as 鈥淩eceived鈥 in the York application (MyFile), by February 15, 2025 at 11:59:59pm, Eastern Time
  • Must complete and submit the online International Student Scholarship Application by February 15, 2025 at 11:59:59pm, Eastern Time

By submitting the International Student Scholarship & Award Application, you will be considered for the scholarships listed below except for the Tentanda Via Award (you must specifically select the Tentanda Via Award on the application form to be considered):

Awards Amount

Twenty (20) of these scholarships are awarded per year, valued at $45,000/year. It is renewable for an additional three years of full-time undergraduate study if the student maintains good academic standing each year, bringing it to a total of $180,000 over four years.

Fifteen (15) of these awards are awarded per year, valued at $30,000/year. It is renewable for an additional three years of full-time undergraduate study if the student maintains good academic standing each year, bringing it to a total of $120,000 over four years.

Two (2) of these scholarships are awarded per year, valued at $20,000/year. It is renewable for an additional three years of full-time undergraduate study if the student maintains high academic standing each year, bringing it to a total of $80,000 over four years.

One (1) of these scholarships is awarded per year, valued at $15,000. It is for $15,000 towards a student鈥檚 first year of study.

BAND FUNDING

If you are a First Nations (status), M茅tis or Inuit student, you may be eligible for postsecondary financial support to help offset the costs of tuition, books and supplies, travel and living expenses. Given that each Band, Tribal Council or other funding agency has its own postsecondary policy, you will need to contact your Band or Tribal Council directly. The Coordinator of the Centre for Indigenous Student Services, Randy Pitawanakwat, can assist you during this process. Contact Randy at rpitawan@yorku.ca.

How to apply for Band funding:

  • Contact the Education Counsellor at your local Band office to have a postsecondary education application package sent to you.
  • Carefully read the policy and guidelines. Complete and send out the application before the required deadline.
  • Your Band office will inform you if you have been approved. Follow through with any additional requests from the Band.

If you receive Band funding, your tuition fees will be paid directly to the University by a third party (your Band). Submit your sponsorship letter to Student Financial Services at the time of your enrolment. You must pay your within five business days of enrolling in courses to maintain your enrolment status; York will then bill the third party for the balance of your fees. In some cases, your Band may also set up an account for you at the 草榴2024新地扯一二 Bookstore to pay for your textbook costs.
